Game drives, though extremely popular, are not the only way to experience the rich biodiversity of the Kalahari. This week, our guests discovered the unique benefits of tree gum during our Walk with the San experience. As the seasons change in the Kalahari biome, indigenous plants transform, revealing natural sources of energy. According to the San people, who have long inhabited the Kalahari, the tree gum of the acacia tree is a vital source of sugary energy, enabling them to travel great distances.
